Testimonials

Russ and Pat Lee

I wanted to thank not only Joan for helping me find the best business but also her assistant Patrick. They work as a team, and when Joan’s tied up, Patrick always had answers for me. It’s like having two people working to help you find a business. We appreciate it! Thanks for not letting us get into the food business in Santa Cruz. more...

Business Description:

This nationally known franchise brand has four stores for sale in the Bay Area.  The key owners live outside the area and have other interests to pursue, so they are looking for the right owner to continue the success of the four strong locations on the Peninsula and the South Bay.

The product is a household product with a house hold name known by all.  Each of the stores has a store manager, and there is a Managing Partner overseeing the entire operations.  The new owner would take over the managing partners role which means fills in if a store manager is out, as well as handling inventory management, direct supervision of staff, including hiring and firing and general day-to-day operations.

There are some real advantages to owning these stores.  Having a nationally recognized brand name is key to the success of the stores.  There is national advertising as well as having a protected exclusive territory and built in repeat customers. They offer a service/warranty/tune up program that no other manufacturer can touch.  There is a 30-day trial period, so there is no hard selling which the store managers appreciate.

Unlike many retail operations, there are not a whole lot of employees to juggle, only five full-time and two part-time employees.  The profitability has been solid since their first year in business with an adjusted net of $164,214 for their trailing 12 months since Sep 30, 2008.
